Vintage School Desk

Vintage School Desk

Summer Project: Estate Sale!

A large part of my summer has been spent going through items that belonged to my in-laws. My mother-in-law was born in the 20’s and lived through the Great Depression which means she kept everything because there might be a use for it sometime in the future. Scraps of material, buttons, bread ties, and plastic bags were just a few of the items that were found in bulk.

We had an estate sale a few weeks ago and we were still left with three huge tables full of items. We decided to put an ad on Craigslist and give away the ample amount of leftovers. When we opened the garage doors on Saturday at 8:30, we were cleaned out in one and a half hours! This was so much easier than packing everything and driving to Goodwill. I highly recommend this method!

During my digging this summer, I discovered lots of treasures, which I will feature in future posts. What I learned from this experience is that I need to go through my own stuff and keep only that which I have use for or that holds a VERY special place in my heart.
