Broccoli Bacon Salad

Jo Ann’s broccoli salad….from a church card recipe that I have had tucked away in my recipe box since the early 90’s. Jo Ann can cook like few people I have ever known. So, you know if Jo Ann makes broccoli salad (with bacon in it, no less) it will be delicious! Will it low-cal and healthy? No, definitely not, but it will taste amazing.

Chop two small heads of broccoli into small bite-size pieces.

Add 1 cup raisins.

Chop half of a red onion and add to mixture. And then add bacon, one package of bacon fried crispy. Break into small pieces. You can never go wrong with bacon!

The dressing is 1 cup of mayonnaise (Jo Ann says Hellman’s is best!), 1/2 cup sugar, and 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar.  Mix and pour over the broccoli mixture.  Chill before serving.

I love this old church recipe card which I have used many times for broccoli bacon salad…Thanks Jo Ann!

I hope you enjoy!

  1. I will soon have some broccoli to the garden, so I can make this salad! Thanks for visiting us on The Maple Hill Hop!

  2. That sounds yummy! The dressing sounds like one my mom used to make.
